Todd Wilson Experiment performs “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”

 

On Saturday April 18th, 2009 the guys who brought you The Craigslist Show and Improvised Sketch Show bring you a take on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno performed on stage at Ultimate Improv. Brendan McGovern will be playing Jay Leno backed by Kevin Manwarren as Kevin Eubanks and the Tonight band (The whole band).

Gian Molina, Jacob Reed, Will Maier and Justin Michael  will be doing bits along with “Jay” with segments such as “real products” Bobcat Goldthwait  will be making a guest appearance (Todd Wilson) and  live animal expert from National Geographic Will Maier. Be sure to arrive early to have a meet and greet with “Jay Leno” Himself. G-Funk will be warming up the crowd and giving away lots prizes for those audience members that stand out and participate in pre-show games. He is also a gifted stand up comedian.

Gian has a new Secret Squad!

From the depths of the Sierra Stages, home of UCB’s Tuesday Night Thunder, a team of performers who never have performed together came to form THE SECRET SQUAD. Scott Hayes put together this team for the TNT March Madness Tournament where they would have 8 minutes to win over the audience and move on to the final four.  The show exploded with amazing energy as the 7 performers started with an X-men themed group game which led into the 2 other scenes in the 8 minute time frame.  They rocked it and established them as a force to be reckoned with. The team Snapkin ended up taking the championship that night but the damage was done. Secret Squad was now on the radar of the UCB community or at least everyone who was at TNT that night.

April 7th, 2009 Secret Squad returned to the Sierra Stages for their first 30 minute run as an improv wrecking crew, with new members Jack Allison and Matty Smith.  The show was amazingly fun and super energetic and once again the Secret Squad held the audience to a laugh a minute frenzy. Now they look ahead toward the future and in their sights awaits a chance to challenge the champions on the UCB Cagematch. The team that is still fairly new and was a tournament team ,but now will work on getting a run going as UCB Champs. This is where you come in! And we're off...the cuff

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the OFF THE CUFF Podcast Blog!

This is the very first entry on this page and we want to introduce ourselves for those who have no clue who we are. Off the Cuff started as a collective of comedian who host their own shows around the city of Los Angeles creating an underground comedy scene not normally seen at clubs such as The Laugh Factory or the Comedy Store. We are not trying to set ourselves apart from the major clubs, we just wanted the chance to showcase our craft and be constantly doing shows featuring some amazing talent.

Some of these alternative Comedy shows include: Acid Reflux Hour hosted by Josh Fadem, Nick Rutherford's Basement Party, Garage Comedy hosted by Val Meyers, ShankFlo hosted by Adam Shankman, and The Sunday Sunday Sunday Show hosted by Karl Hess and Gian Molina
(these are just a few...we will create an extensive list in later posts)

Karl Hess and Gian Molina started a radio show in Little Armenia, which was somewhat popular in Dallas, TX and random parts of the US. After being kindly asked to leave due to the program directors thinking we were high during our recording sessions...and Asterios' controversial boycott of Chipotle. Asterios immediately joined Karl and Gian for their new show on Dublab.com.
